Mario isn’t just the plumber who leaps out of green pipes and jumps on Goombas. No, besides saving his beloved princess he has a lot of hobbies. Mario is a fan of soccer, he likes playing tennis and he often challenges his friends and enemies to fight in the arena. But let’s not forget about karting! Mario Kart has been very popular since its launch in 1992 and every year we organize a competition at CampZone. This year Mario Kart is not missing!

This year we play Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on the Nintendo Switch. Yes, on Nintendo’s newest console. But the rules remain just the same as usual. Four players battle each other on courses selected carefully by us and race to become the best. Of course Mario Kart isn’t Mario Kart without the items and these will definitely flood the racetracks. But don’t be distracted by these items because only the best players will continue to the next round and the ultimate winner will, as you would expect from us, go home with a very nice price.

So keep drifting and train your skills to join this exciting competition. And remember: do not throw a blue shield, three red shields and a bomb on that poor opponent who’s happily karting in first place. Oh wait, just do it. The audience loves it!

Mario is niet alleen de loodgieter die uit groene pijpen komt en op Goomba’s springt. Nee, naast het redden van zijn geliefde prinses heeft hij nog een heleboel hobby’s. Zo voetbalt Mario, speelt hij graag een potje tennis en daagt hij zijn vrienden en vijanden uit voor het potje vechten. Maar laten we zeker het karten niet vergeten! Mario Kart is al sinds het eerste deel erg populair en elk jaar organiseren wij op CampZone dan ook een competitie. Zo ook dit jaar zal Mario Kart uiteraard niet ontbreken!

Dit jaar spelen wij Mario Kart 8 Deluxe op de Nintendo Switch. Jawel, op Nintendo’s nieuwste parel. Maar de regels zijn als vanouds. Vier spelers nemen het per potje tegen elkaar op en strijden om eerste te worden op de door ons zorgvuldig gekozen banen. Uiteraard is Mario Kart geen Mario Kart zonder de items en die zullen je dan ook zeker om de oren gaan vliegen. Maar laat je niet afleiden door deze items, want alleen de beste spelers zullen doorgaan naar de volgende rondes en de ultieme overwinnaar zal zoals je van ons mag verwachten met een erg mooie prijs naar huis gaan.

Dus drift erop los en train je skills om mee te gaan doen aan deze spannende competitie. En onthoud: gooi geen blauw schild, drie rode schilden en een bom op die zielige tegenstander die zo mooi op de eerste plek staat… Oh wacht, doe ook maar wel. Het publiek houdt daar wel van!
